Position Overview

Nystrom is looking for a high impact Area Sales Representative!

Our Area Sales Representative position has the responsibility to support the entire Nystrom direct sales channel efforts.  The primary responsibility is to support the Area Sales Managers and assist in managing their respective territories. The Area Sales Representative will assist all Area Sales Managers with additional needs and tasks when fully staffed. 

The duties of the Area Sales Representative include receiving inbound communication from customers, daily quoting, specification interpretation, technical support, and order management. The Area Sales Representative will also communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, independent representatives, distributors, and territory partners.

Essential Functions

  • Learn and apply general product knowledge across all product lines.
  • Learn processes involving credit applications, price adjustments, change orders, quoting, order entry, return authorizations, submittals, and pricing.
  • Learn internal systems.
  • Manage daily operation issues in relation to all sales activities.
  • Quote Management: daily and project quotes, quote follow-up and other pricing issues related to products sold within regional territories.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in dealing with customers and vendors of outsourced products.
  • Work with Area Sales Managers and Leadership to negotiate price, delivery, contracts, and warranty terms.
  • Provide territory coverage for Area Sales Managers who are out of the office or require additional assistance and back-up as necessary.
  • Communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, independent representatives, distributors, and Territory Partners.
  • Communicate cross-functionally across the organization.
  • Ability to understand, convey, and apply technical aspects of drawings and specifications of products to customers.
  • Assist with other duties and tasks not defined but required to create a successful HASSLE - FREE experience.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to daily activities.
  • Strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours based upon needs to effectively complete responsibilities.
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and project concurrently.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications. CRM experience desirable.
  • Specific industry and/or product knowledge, but not required.
